This morning's moonset from Tidelands Park at dawn. The air was so clear and cold that it allowed for this incredibly vibrant twilight wedge. The wedge is created by light scatter as the warm rays of the sun (which is still below the horizon) traces the contours of the earth (approximately 10°-20° above the horizon) while the remaining light in the spectrum is scattered. The blue under the wedge is the Earth's shadow - pretty cool! Also referred to as "The Belt of Venus." I love scenes like this! Happy Holidays everyone!
