A long time ago (circa 2003) when I knew nothing about how to plan for a moon, I was caught off guard when this full moon rose behind Cathedral Rocks in Sedona, AZ. Out of that experience, I was determined to educate myself about how to plot moonrises and moonsets from a given elevation with objects in front of me and I did. Fortunately, I knew enough back then to photograph all my landscapes in RAW and now - for the first time and thanks to the world of luminosity masks - I have been able to process this frame to my liking. Photography is a journey. Your skills will constantly improve... Save those old files! And oh yeah... have a lot of fun out there!
