River Fire, Salinas, California IR

Posted by

I drove to our highest accessible peak (Fremont Peak - 3169 feet) yesterday evening. Here is a look across the Salinas Valley towards the Santa Lucia Range. With my Infrared (720nm) Sony camera, it was able to record the flames of the River Fire burning south of Salinas and is now sadly about to connect with the Carmel Fire. I could not see these flames with the naked eye but the IR cut through the smoke/haze and recorded this fire along the ridges. Please say an extra prayer or two for all those affected including our good friends.

SONY ILCE-6300 1/30 second F/8.0 ISO 400 88 mm (35mm equiv.)
