Skitzkoppe Sunset, Namibia

Posted by
Don Smith (California, United States) on 28 October 2017 in Landscape & Rural.

Only (6) spots remain for Pierre Steenberg and my Namibia Workshop this August 21-31: CLICK HERE.

One of the areas we will visit on this Landscape and Wildlife Workshop will be The Spitzkoppe (from German for "pointed dome" or the "Matterhorn of Namibia"), is a group of bald granite peaks or inselbergs located between Usakos and Swakopmund in the Namib desert of Namibia. The granite is more than 120 million years old and the highest outcrop rises 5,853. Here was a sunset on our first night in.
