Columbia River Gorge Fire Update

Posted by
Don Smith (California, United States) on 16 September 2017 in Landscape & Rural.

I received an update on the Eagle Creek Fire burning in Oregon's Columbia River Gorge from our friends at the Best Western Plus Hood River Inn.

"Areas in the Hood River Valley, Mt. Hood, the Eastern Gorge and forests of Washington are just as they have always been...Spectacular! The initial assessment of impact on natural areas in the western Gorge is promising."

Here is a firsthand blog shared from MyEast that they sent me from September 12 with a detailed explanation: CLICK HERE.

As for our Workshop this upcoming April, we are all systems go as the Gorge will receive plenty of moisture this winter. For more information, please CLICK HERE.

Punchbowl Falls (pictured here) was near ground zero of the the fire's origin which began sadly by a teenager playing with firecrackers.

Please feel free to share this post. In the wake of Hurricane's Harvey and Irma, this story has been largely ignored by the national media.
