Forecasters are calling for an extremely powerful "atmospheric river" of moisture to push in over Central California this weekend. That made for a great opportunity to get out ahead of the storm yesterday near sunset along the Big Sur Coast. I ended up at Matterhorn Rock and was treated to some great light and some large swells. Again I thought about where I wanted to place my elements in this scene of a sun star. The sun carries a huge amount of visual weight and Matterhorn Rock needed to balance the composition, so I set up low and created a diagonal between the sun and the rock.
