Pigeon Point Light Station

Posted by
Don Smith (California, United States) on 12 December 2016 in Landscape & Rural.

I've been continuing my re-edit quest as I delve into my 2008 work. Here is an image from November 2008 from Pigeon Point Light Station along the San Mateo Coast of Northern California. The stewards of the Lighthouse had reinstalled the Fresnel lens for this special evening and stopped the rotation for 15 minutes to give still photographers a chance to capture the beams. I first ran the RAW file through DxO OpticsPro11 to remove noise, then went ahead and processed the file through Lightroom. DxO has a Prime Noise Reduction algorithm that removes up to 1.5 stops of noise without flattening the look of the file - pretty amazing stuff!
