Dusk-Lit Cloud Over Santa Ana Peak

Here is another image captured with the new Sony RX10 III. This camera is on the larger side of compact cameras but here's the really cool part: it sports a 24mm - 600mm lens that starts at f/2.4 and crosses over to f/4 at 135mm all the way up to 600mm! The glass is Zeiss made and the images I am seeing, even on the extremes of both ends, are razor sharp. The new EVF reveals the true colors of the scene. But here is perhaps the craziest part - this camera retails for only $1498.00! The files are captured by a new 20.1 MP (57.1 MB 8-bit file) backlit illuminated sensor (for expanded dynamic range) and the new BIONZ X Image Processor. I'm off to Chicago today then I go onto Kauai next Tuesday. I will put it through its paces once I'm on the Island and write a more thorough blog. Suffice it to say, I'm enamored by this camera! If you are planning a summer vacation - this may be the only camera you need!
