Jeffrey Pine and Half Dome, Yosemite

Posted by
Don Smith (California, United States) on 2 August 2014 in Landscape & Rural.

This past week I went to Yosemite and ended up on top of Sentinel Dome (elevation 8,124 ft.) to shoot sunset. I had spotted this interesting Jeffrey Pine on past trips and used it as a foreground element when the alpenglow light lit Half Dome and Clouds Rest. To see more images and to read more about this image please read my current blog: THE IMPORTANCE OF HAVING A "PLAN B"
. I had rehearsed this composition well before the good light arrived, so when it came, I was confident that my composition choice was the best that I could make it.
