In my latest blog, I discuss the advanced processing options available to all of us that in-turn allow for better previsualize the scene in front of us. I captured this extremely contrasty scene at Mono Lake last week as the sun nipped the tip of the eastern Sierra crest. To learn more about how I "previsualized" this scene and how I processed this image, please read my latest blog: [url=UPCOMING 2013 WORKSHOPS:

In Part 2 my latest blog, I explain how I planned and executed capturing this moonbow (a lunar rainbow) at the base of lower Yosemite Fall last week. I have been capturing moonbows for a number of years now and decided to try a horizontal frame instead of my usual vertical. Because I was using a wide angle lens and angling the camera up, I got parallax distortion with the pines on each side of the frame. I tried correcting it in Photoshop, but in the end, decided to leave it alone as I felt the leaning of the trees directed the eye to the fall and moonbow - just a creative decision on my end.
