I love photographing National Parks. I like the experience even better when I can capture a unique image of an iconic scene and feel as if I am the only one there. Such was the case last week in Yellowstone National Park. Mike Hall (who assisted me in my Grand Teton Workshop) was with me as we attempted to photograph the iconic Old Faithful geyser in a lightning storm at night. Mike actually has an image of the geyser erupting with a single bolt of lightning striking the ground. My framing was too tight at that moment and thus I missed it. I did however capture this multiple strike as the geyser faded and somehow caught this awesome purple hue along the horizon.
