Winter light is so beautiful to photograph. There is a crispness to it unlike any other time of the year. While enjoying a beautiful sunset at California's Seacliff State Beach the other evening, I came across this world of barnacle-encrusted pier pilings at low tide. The sun was just about to kiss the horizon and the play of warm light had me thinking that these guys just may be working on a winter suntan!
