Note: This is a continuation of a 10-part series where I explore visual concepts that can help you while in the field. These concepts are not intended to be a how-to guide; rather, they are ways of helping one think about the visual craft of landscape photography.

Welcome to Part 8 of Exploring Visual Concepts. Texture and Patterns are evident everywhere in nature - sometimes patterns can be man-made such as these vineyards and oftentimes they are not easy to spot. Texture is really more about the angle of light in relation to the landscape. In this scene, the low angle of the sun skimmed these vineyards revealing depth and color not evident when viewed at other times of the day. To read more on my thoughts, please read my latest blog post Exploring Visual Concepts - Texture and Patterns.
