Sunset and Clearing Storm Over Yosemite Valley

Posted by
Don Smith (California, United States) on 20 February 2009 in Landscape & Rural.

Yosemite's Tunnel View offers perhaps the most photographed vista of all of Yosemite, and if you have ever visited, especially after a clearing winter storm, you would know why. I have been visiting this location ever since I was a child and I have never tired of this scene.

As with my last post, I used Photoshop CS4's lens perspective correction filter as I had to once again angle my camera upwards towards the sky as this incredible warm light lit the clouds causing some parallax distortion. Short of owning a tilt/shift lens, or shooting with a view camera, this filter can be a photographer's best friend.

I encourage anyone even remotely interested in nature photography to visit this location just once during a winter storm. The experience will take your breath away!
