Aspens Against Granite

Posted by
Don Smith (California, United States) on 8 October 2008 in Landscape & Rural.

I first spotted this scene four years ago while shooting fall color in Bishop Canyon in the eastern Sierra. I returned to this spot yesterday hoping the reddish bush would be at or near peak color. As fortune would have it, both the aspens and the bush were near peak color. This location is hard to spot especially if the road is in sunshine. I will be culling through six days worth of images and will be posting more in the next couple of weeks. I will also be posting new images to my website http://www.donsmithphotography.com. If you are interested in visiting locations such as the eastern Sierra, Yosemite, Big Sur, Death Valley, Mendocino and Arizona, please click on the Workshop link located on my home page. My workshops place a premium on location shooting, but I also offer Photoshop and HDR training, image reviews and more. Please feel free to contact me for more information.
