September Moon - Part II

Posted by
Don Smith (California, United States) on 20 September 2008 in Landscape & Rural.

I captured this image of the rising moon shortly after the last posting. I try to work as many variations of an image as possible, from wide to tight, vertical and horizontal. I feel we all previsualize images for the most part, and sometimes we get locked into one way of seeing. Keep reminding yourself to change lenses, perspective and format - it will make a big difference in the amount of images you can capture in one session. I know this setting looks very remote and peaceful, but Mike, Nick and I were standing on a sidewalk alongside a busy road with cars racing by at 60 mph! Vibrations from the passing cars can sometimes play havoc with sharpness as the vibration transfers up the legs of the tripod.
