Bridalveil Falls Rainbow

Posted by
Don Smith (California, United States) on 21 April 2008 in Landscape & Rural.

I've just returned from teaching a four-day spring workshop in Yosemite National Park with my partner Gary Hart. I will be posting new imagery in the upcoming days. This was an image I shot late yesterday at Bridalveil Falls. Although it looks easy to capture this image, I would liken it to shooting in a rainstorm as the blowing mist from the falls soaked everything. Because of the need for depth-of-field and a shutter fast enough to stop the foreground foliage from blurring in the wind, I opted for 800 ISO which tends to exhibit very low noise with the Canon 1DsMKIII.
