No matter what path we follow in life, there are those who tend to rise above others and make whatever the task they are doing appear effortless. Some people call it talent, and granted, we are all born with innate gifts. But is it simply that? I've worked around professional athletes most of my adult life, and to a person, they are gifted, but they do not excel on talent alone. It is hard work, perseverance, and the ability to concentrate at an extremely high level - they refer to it as being in the zone.

While accompanying my youngest son Aaron on a recent golf lesson, I thought about this and how it relates to all of us as photographers. Have you ever felt in the zone with your photography? Ever wondered how you got there? If you're interested in reading more of my thoughts on this topic, then please read my latest blog article Photography Lessons - Learned on the Golf Course.
