Beauty Under the Stars

Here is another image atop Yosemite's Sentinel Dome looking east towards the Sierra crest. Tioga Pass Road (Highway 120) is located to the far left of this image. I'm surmising the bright light to the left of center is the town of Mammoth Lakes, California (home of Mammoth Mountain Ski Resort). I'm not sure about the lights to the far right of the frame - perhaps Bishop?

Due to the wide angle of view, one is able to view the stars rotating both clockwise and counter-clockwise around the north and south poles.

I am currently in northern California for the beginning of my Redwoods/Mendocino workshop. It should be a fun four days with lots of varied scenery to photograph!
