New Workshop at Arches/Canyondlands National ParksPosted by Don Smith (California, United States) on 25 April 2009 in Landscape & Rural. I am excited to announce a new workshop planned for this November 4-8, 2009 at Utah's famed Arches and Canyonlands National Parks. To say I fell in love with these two gems back in November would be an understatement, so I decided to spend a week thoroughly exploring with the idea of offering a workshop. This image above was captured just after sunrise at the Windows area of Arches National Park. The arch in the foreground is called North Window and the arch in the distance is Turret Arch. This is not a new perspective that I discovered, it has been done many times before, but I read recently that this vantage point had been cut off by Park officials. Needless to say, the person writing this information was wrong. This is really a pretty straight image with little need other than the standard post-processing I use for all my images (globally correct in Adobe Camera Raw and locally correct in Photoshop CS4). By the way, I do teach my workflow techniques in all my workshops. I will be posting more images from this trip over the next 8 days as I am leaving for my Northern Arizona Workshop. My friend and partner Gary Hart will be assisting me on this workshop. If you would like more information, please go to my website (listed below) and click on the Workshop tab on the home page. E-mail me and I can send you a PDF with all the particulars. My Website: "how to" articles, galleries, stock photos, and more... Software Discounts:
