Time for Spring!Posted by Don Smith (California, United States) on 25 February 2009 in Landscape & Rural. After spending the past couple of weeks shooting in snow and rain, I am longing (as I'm sure most of you are) for spring. I thought I would post an image that will be used for an upcoming ad in Outdoor Photographer Magazine promoting my spring/summer workshops. This image was captured during the peak of the rhododendron bloom in Prairie Creek Redwoods State Park in Humbolt County, California. Combining these exquisite blooms with giant redwoods and Pacific Ocean fog makes for some fantastic photo opportunities. My early June workshop will start with students getting the opportunity to make their own images of these lovely blooms and massive trees. We will then depart for Fort Bragg and the Mendocino coastline. It promises to be a diverse workshop with plenty of beautiful locations.
