Partington Cove

Posted by
Don Smith (California, United States) on 12 January 2009 in Landscape & Rural.

If you have been following my blog with any regularity you have probably noticed an abundance of seaside images. This is because I have spent much of the month of December photographing images for an upcoming eBook which will be available for purchase on this site soon! More details will follow in the days ahead. It has been an exciting (and exhausting) project that has been 3 months in the works. The book will be available as a high-quality PDF in both single and double-page spreads. I won't give away the title yet, so please come back! This will be one of the images appearing in the book. I shot this recently at Partington Cove along the Big Sur coast. Unfortunately the sky wasn't cooperating, so I decided to wait until the sun kissed the horizon to get my shot - a good lesson in patience. This is a combination of three images done through layers and masks in Photoshop CS4. I then fine-tuned it with Nik Viveza software and sharpened it with Nik Sharpener Pro. My 2009 Spring Big Sur Workshop will be coming up this March. I still have a few openings if you are interested. You can contact me by leaving a message on this blog, or e-mailing me direct or through my website at http://www.donsmithphotography.com.
