Black Oaks in El Capitan Meadow

Posted by Don Smith (California, United States) on 23 November 2008 in Landscape & Rural.

I couldn't resist posting one more image of fall color in Yosemite National Park. This image was captured in El Capitan Meadow as the sun slipped between openings of the giant granite Cathedral Rocks. For me, fall color is best shot under overcast/misty skies. With clear blue skies, backlight is the only answer. To make sure I held exposure throughout this image, I combined three frames in Photomatix Pro 3.1 software.
