Fog Over Steinbeck CountryPosted by Don Smith (California, United States) on 26 September 2008 in Landscape & Rural. Pacific Ocean fog drifts along the headlands of the Gabilan Range over California's Salinas Valley, the one-time home of famed author John Steinbeck. This area is commonly referred to as "Steinbeck Country" I captured this image minutes before sunset accounting for the warm light on the foreground hills. Minutes later, my friend Nick and I ran down a narrow trail to shoot the sun sinking into the fog (I will post that image later - I love the thrill of the chase). This image was shot near the summit of Fremont Peak State Park looking south. Very little post production work was needed as the light molded the landscape perfectly.
