Twilight at Pigeon Point

Posted by Don Smith (California, United States) on 2 September 2008 in Landscape & Rural.

Here is one last image from a fun shoot last week. This image was shot after the sun had set as soft pink hues from twilight enliven the sky behind the Pigeon Point Lighthouse near Santa Cruz, California. I basically approached this shoot thinking HDR the entire way. The contrast range at twilight is obviously less than at sunset, thus I only needed a 4-stop bracket with this image. The images were then combined in Photomatix Pro 3.0 (click on my previous post if you are interested in ordering a copy). I'm off today with my family enjoying my birthday (yikes- another year older)! As always, please visit my website at http://www.donsmithphotography.com.
