Painterly Sky and California Oak

I love simple scenes like this especially when I'm lucky enough to get a colorful palette for a sky. Many times when I am out with my camera I'm simply looking for color. The tree and the rolling hills were added as a visual anchor and gives the scene a sense of scale and a place for the eye to rest. I made this image near my home in central California in the rolling hills of the Diablo Range.
