Sea Daisies at Mendocino Headlands

Posted by Don Smith (California, United States) on 20 July 2008 in Landscape & Rural.

A colorful bouquet of sea daisies clings to a bluff along the Mendocino Headlands. I captured this image about 45 minutes before sunset as a smoke-filled sky provided a salmon color hue. Other than a few tweaks in Adobe Camera Raw, this is how the image looked. I did use a Singh-Ray 3-stop split neutral density filter to help balance the tones between the daisies and the sky.
