Thank you both for your kind words. Greg, yes it is the variable neutral density filter that allowed for the motion. Even using the "Sunny 16 Rule" and dropping the ISO to 50, at 5:30 in the afternoon the light is too intense. The beauty of the Singh-Ray is it allows me to dial in between -2 to -8 stops of light - thus I only have to carry one filter. I did notice at this angle (about 70 degrees to the sun and back lit), I would get some weird polarization if I went beyond -6 - not sure why. For this image I was dialed down to -4. My histogram told me where I stood in relation to losing my highlights. I pushed the exposure as far to the right being careful not to clip any of the three channels. I bracketed exposures and this one produced the effect I was looking for. BTW, the waterwheel is about 20 feet in height!
