Sunset Over the Tuolumne RiverPosted by Don Smith (California, United States) on 10 July 2008 in Landscape & Rural. The evening sun sets through a smoke-filled sky over the Tuolumne River in Yosemite's high country. I was on the return portion of my 18.5 mile hike to Waterwheel Falls when I came upon this scene. Even though I was very tied and just wanted to get back to my car, I couldn't pass it by. A 3-stop Singh-Ray split grad helped balance the sky and river. Ansel Adams once said: "Sometimes I do get to places just when God's ready to have somebody click the shutter." That's how I felt about this scene!
