Let the World Slip Away

Posted by Don Smith (California, United States) on 17 May 2008 in Landscape & Rural.

Harbor seals take a morning nap at Point Lobos State Reserve near Carmel, California. I found these seals while working with a workshop student. We were captivated by the turquoise color of the water and the dancing kelp. I used a slow shutter of 1 1/3 seconds at f/32 to give a sense of movement to the kelp. I call Point Lobos a "photographer's Disneyland." To see more of my landscape imagery, purchase a copy of my book On the Edge or get information how you can take a workshop with me, please visit my website at http://www.donsmithphotography.com.
