Springtime Color

Posted by Don Smith (California, United States) on 6 April 2008 in Landscape & Rural.

Lush green hills and thick yellow mustard plant add spring color to these rolling hills in the Diablo range found in southern San Benito County in central California. These cumulus clouds appear often during the afternoon in spring as updrafts of warmer air are cooled by the overhead air masses. As sunset nears, most of these clouds dissipate as the air masses equalize.
