Summer-like fog formed last Friday morning around the Big Sur coast about 10 miles south of Carmel. This image works for me not only because of the vibrant color of the ice plants on the dunes contrasted against the cool tone of the fog, but also because of the diagonal lines (from the dunes to the fog to the mountain ridge) that lead the eye up and through the image. This place never ceases to amaze me with its endless photo opportunities. I begin a 4-day workshop there today, so I will be posting more images in the upcoming week. Thanks Zing and Stefan. I've been shooting the Big Sur coast for years. This weather pattern is more typical of the summer months. Nonetheless, it's hard to miss as this stretch of coastline is beautiful in any weather!
